Claudia Santa Cruz

Claudia Santa Cruz, Founder and President of Santa Cruz Communications, Inc. is a seasoned Public Relations professional, with a strong background that began in 1991.  She currently leads and oversees the agency’s work with an expanding roster of loyal clients.  Her keen knowledge and sensitivity to work with different markets, particularly the U.S. Hispanic market, has gained her a reputation for producing measurable results.


Prior to starting her own public relations business, Ms. Santa Cruz, co-author of the book Hispanic Marketing & Public Relations, worked at Telemundo Network for over seven years.  As Public Relations Manager, she oversaw the department, creating and executing bilingual campaigns to promote the company’s activities, programs, on-air personalities, and special events.

Santa Cruz was promoted from her Public Relations Manager position at the company’s flagship station in L.A., KVEA-TV.  At the station, she planned and executed Media and Public Affairs campaigns targeting the L.A. market, and produced a weekly public affairs television program titled “Contrapunto”.  Previously, Ms. Santa Cruz was the Public Relations Coordinator at KMEX-TV, Univision’s owned and operated station in L.A., where she developed media relations campaigns.

Santa Cruz’ extensive background includes the planning and execution of PR strategies to assure coverage of major special events including the two biggest street parties in the nation:  Fiesta Broadway and Calle 8, acclaimed musical events such as the Carnaval Internacional, and Juan Gabriel at the Rose Bowl, beauty pageants including Univision’s Nuestra Belleza, Telethons such as Navidad en el Barrio and Los Angeles Estamos Contigo, and numerous ethnic celebrations such as Fiestas Patrias and Cinco de Mayo.  In addition, since 1999, Santa Cruz has been in charge of developing and executing the entire Public Relations plan for the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

A recipient of a Public Relations Society of America PRISM Award, Santa Cruz received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from California State University, Northridge.  She was born in Peru, and lived in Bolivia, the Philippines and Norway prior to moving to the United States, where she currently resides.

Paola Marin

With more than eight years of experience in the Hispanic market, Paola Marin’s extensive background includes corporate communications, community relations, publicity and event planning for such companies as Telemundo Communications Group, AARP Segunda Juventud, Grupo Editorial Norma, Gospel Music Channel and Selecciones Magazine, among others. In addition she has been in charge of the media credentialing process for the Billboard Latin Music Awards since 2006.

Marin has participated in the development and execution of successful media strategies for prestigious events, including The Billboard Latin Music Awards, The GLAAD Awards, Selecciones’ Go Red de Corazon, and “Generacion Latina” events, The Fox Sports Awards en Español, The Championship weekend at the Homestead Grand Prix, Ford art exhibition “Retratos” and Telemundo programming launch events.  She began her Public Relations career at Santa Cruz Communications in 2001 as Public Relations Assistant.  In 2004, she became Public Relations Coordinator and on 2006 she was promoted to Account Executive, position that she currently holds.

Prior to joining Santa Cruz Communications, Marin served as Staff Reporter for the Spanish-language publication, Boom! Magazine, where she interviewed and published articles featuring different Latin artists.  She was also the editor of the “Noches Boom” section.

Marin holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism - Mass Communications, and Art History, with a Minor in Visual Arts and Photography from Florida International University in Miami, FL. 


Danixa Lopez

Danixa Lopez is a professional with more than 14 years of experience in marketing and communications with focus on the U.S. Hispanic market. She possesses an in-depth knowledge of the entertainment industry and is knowledgeable in Internet marketing, social media and mobile marketing strategies. Prior to joining Santa Cruz Communications, Danixa was the founder and president of On The Spot Media & Marketing, a communications and marketing agency that serviced companies focused on the U.S. Hispanic market and Latin America.

Danixa also served as marketing director for independent label The Roof Records/Perfect Image Records and its sister company Perfect Image Film and Video Production.  During a period of three years, she was responsible for directing, developing and supervising the company’s marketing objectives. She was also in charge of product management, publicity, booking and road management for the company’s artist roster. During her time at Perfect Image Film and Video Production, Danixa also oversaw the company’s artist relations and the launch of Urban Image Marketing and Media, a full-service entertainment company dedicated to offer marketing services geared towards the U.S. urban Latin market.

Prior to working with Perfect Image, Lopez was the Public Relations and marketing manager for cable channel, Telemundo Internacional. While holding that position, she developed and implemented the channel’s media relations and publicity programs as well as affiliate relations initiatives. Danixa also worked as entertainment producer for Telemundo’s morning show “Esta Mañana” and for Warner Music Latina as part of its Press and Publicity Department.

Danixa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, with emphasis in Radio and Television from the University of Puerto Rico, Arecibo.
